Learn to create your own Ukrainian beaded ring in this hands-on workshop inspired by traditional ornament. Using off-loom beading techniques, you’ll explore symbolic patterns and leave with a finished ring and new skills to continue beading. Suitable for beginners and experienced beaders, ages 15+. Light lunch included.
Instructor: Viktoriia Pirohova, a Saskatoon-based beadwork artist from Ukraine, blends traditional folk motifs with modern design to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Description
In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own Ukrainian beaded ring using an off-loom beading method inspired by traditional Ukrainian ornament. You’ll learn foundational techniques, explore symbolic patterns, and leave with a finished ring—along with the skills and confidence to continue beading on your own.
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced beaders, and is recommended for ages 15 and up. A light lunch is included in the registration fee and will be served during the workshop.
About the Instructor:
Saskatoon-based Viktoriia Pirohova is a beadwork artist from Ukraine, now creating in Canada. Originally from Kyiv, she began working with beads in 2022 as a way to share and preserve Ukrainian culture abroad. Drawing on deep-rooted traditions, Viktoriia blends folk motifs with modern design to create pieces that are both meaningful and beautifully unique.
