Description

Public Discussion: Women Veteran Reintegration in Ukraine
Wednesday, April 29, 7:00–8:30 PM

Join us for an important and timely discussion on the reintegration of women veterans in Ukraine. This joint lecture, organized by Saskatchewan Polytechnic in partnership with the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, brings distinguished guests from Ukraine: Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs Yuliia Kirillova and Ukrainian Women Veterans Movement co-founder Kateryna Pryimak, who will share insights from both government and civil society perspectives.

Together, they will explore Ukraine’s evolving veteran support systems during wartime, with a special focus on the unique challenges faced by women veterans—including rehabilitation, employment, mental health, and social reintegration.

A key component of the session will examine the Global Affairs Canada (GAC)–funded Women Veteran Reintegration Project, led by Saskatchewan Polytechnic, which supports innovative, gender-responsive approaches to veteran reintegration. Drawing on their direct experience, the speakers will reflect on lessons learned, the value of international collaboration, and how partnerships between governments, civil society, and donors can strengthen veteran services and contribute to sustainable post-conflict recovery.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of veteran policy, gender-responsive support, and post-war rebuilding in Ukraine.

All are welcome. No registration is required. Admission by donation. Light snacks and coffee/tea will be served.
