Description
The Ukrainian Museum of Canada hosted its first Intercultural Book Club throughout the fall and winter of 2024–25, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Jewish Arts Festival. Together, participants from diverse communities explored Babi Yar: A Document in the Form of a Novel by A. Anatoli (Anatoly Kuznetsov), a haunting eyewitness account of the Nazi occupation of Kyiv and the atrocities committed at Babi Yar.
This groundbreaking book chronicles the massacre of 33,771 Jewish civilians in September 1941—one of the largest single mass murders of the Holocaust—through the eyes of Anatoli, who was just 12 years old at the time.
Now, we invite you to join members of the Ukrainian and Jewish communities for a powerful evening of dialogue, reflection, and shared learning at the Museum. Together, let’s honour the past and deepen our understanding of this critical chapter in history.
All are welcome. Come prepared to listen, learn, and share your thoughts in this meaningful intercultural exchange.
