Highlights from Yarmarok 2022
More than 600 people attended the museum’s Yarmarok / Christmas Market on 10 December 2022. It was a joyful day of celebration, visiting among friends, and shopping! Visitors were also treated to two choral performances, from a delightful children’s choir composed of newcomers and the wonderful Dibrovka Folk Choir, accompanied by bandura!
Twelve local vendors included: UWAC Hanka Romanchych branch baked goods; Green Grove Ukrainian Orthodox Camp; Ukieology; Slavianka Ukrainian and European Grocery Store; Barmina Design by Maria Barmina; Monika Kinner: Pastel Painting; Gift Town; Ukrainian Patriot; In a Pinch Perogies; Northern Spirit Bead; and Autumn Flower Herbals.
Many local businesses also contributed to a large gift basket which was raffled off at the end of the day, with all proceeds going to Someone Prays for You, a collective of international artists based in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, who are raising funds for civilians fighting on the front lines.
The Museum raised close to $800 to support the collective’s purchases of medicine and equipment! Thank you to local contributors: Nutters Everyday Naturals, Night Oven Bakery, A Taste of Lebanon, Earthbound Bakery, 9 Mile Brewery, Ukrainian Patriot, Autumn Flower Herbals, and The Cheese List! And congratulations to our lucky winner, Doreen Petrow!
The museum thanks everyone who came out to Yamarok for making the day an enormous success!
