Congratulations to the 2022 winner of the Diane J. Ortynsky Memorial Scholarship, Hannah Servetnyk. This award was made possible by the family and friends of Diane Ortynsky (1947-2003), a nurse of great accomplishment whose Ukrainian heritage and faith were central to her life and career. The scholarship is intended to promote Ukrainian culture and heritage by encouraging further educational pursuits and development in the arts.

Hannah is a linguistics major at the University of Saskatchewan, minoring in Classics, and aims to become a speech pathologist. She has studied danced for 16 years, first with the Sonechko Ukrainian Dancer Group and then with Boyan Ukrainian Dance Association, while also training in ballet, musical theatre, modern, lyrical, and jazz genres. She now performs with Evolutzia Ukrainian Dance Ensemble and is an active volunteer at cultural events. The scholarship will enable her to continue contributing to Ukrainian arts and culture as she pursues her studies.
