Diane J. Ortynsky Memorial Scholarship

Dianne J. Ortynsky was born in Canora, Saskatchewan, in 1947. She was an outstanding student involved in many extracurricular activities and later went on to become an exceptional nurse whose kind and compassionate manner touched the lives of many. Her Ukrainian heritage and Ukrainian Orthodox faith were very important to her. In 2006, the family and friends of Dianne J. Ortynsky and the Ukrainian Museum of Canada established a scholarship fund in Diane’s memory. To honour her legacy, the scholarship encourages Ukrainian Canadian students to further their education and development in the arts.
The scholarship application deadline is August 1. It is open to individuals or groups who are pursuing or undertaking a Ukrainian cultural or educational activity. The amount is $500 and only one award is given each year.
