Yalynka 2025

Dear Members and Friends,

As another year draws to a close, the Ukrainian Museum of Canada remains a place where stories, traditions, and art continue to live—carried forward by people like you.

In times like these, our mission reaches beyond preserving heritage. It is about upholding everything Ukrainian and Ukrainian Canadian culture stand for and symbolize today: creativity and compassion, endurance and freedom, the belief that culture can illuminate even the darkest moments.

Each visitor who walks through our doors, each child who learns something new here, and each member who renews their support helps ensure that this light continues to shine across generations and across borders.

Your generosity keeps this work alive. If you are able, please consider making a Yalynka (Christmas tree) gift to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada. In Ukrainian tradition, the Yalynka is more than a festive tree—it is a symbol of renewal, light, and hope in the heart of winter. Donations may be made in memory or in honour of someone dear to you. Each tribute will be recognized with an ornament bearing their name on our Christmas tree in the Museum’s lobby—a visible symbol of love, remembrance, and community.

May peace, hope, and light fill your home this Christmas and throughout the New Year.

With gratitude,

Dr. Jen Budney
