Generous Support
The Ukrainian Museum of Canada is honoured to announce a generous donation from the JOTEL Family Fund through the Saskatoon Community Foundation. This is the second contribution from the fund in just two years, specifically designated to support the exploration of Ukrainian-Indigenous relations and the ongoing efforts to build meaningful connections between our museum and Indigenous communities.
Impact
Thanks to the JOTEL Family Fund, we have been able to host several impactful initiatives, including exploratory gatherings with Indigenous community members, lectures by Jessy Lee Saas and Paul Seesequasis, and ongoing research and planning with Dawn Wasacase. These projects, along with events like our Ukrainian-Cree beading workshops in June 2024, have fostered important dialogues, helping to bridge cultural understandings and strengthen relationships.
The continued support of JOTEL Family Fund enables us to deepen our commitment to these and other projects, creating a space where shared histories and experiences can be explored and honoured. We are immensely grateful for the JOTEL Family Fund’s trust and investment in these essential conversations towards Reconciliation, which are more important than ever.
We look forward to expanding these initiatives in the coming months and welcome the community to join us in these meaningful engagements.
