SASKATOON, SK – The Ukrainian Museum of Canada is expanding its visitor experience and cultural tourism offerings with the support of a $250,000 investment from Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) under the Tourism Growth Program.
With this funding, the Museum is renovating its community room, transforming it into a versatile space for public programs, workshops, and immersive cultural events. The investment will also support new tourism experiences, offering visitors engaging ways to explore Ukrainian Canadian history, art, and traditions.
The Museum is also launching a digital strategy to connect with broader audiences, including a new website that will make events, exhibits, and educational resources more accessible to visitors worldwide. This upgrade will enhance the museum’s reach and offer more convenient ways for people to explore its offerings.
By improving infrastructure, expanding programming, and enhancing marketing, the Museum is strengthening its role as a key cultural destination in Saskatchewan and beyond. Renovations are underway, and visitors can look forward to exciting new cultural experiences and digital enhancements launching in Spring 2025.
“This investment is a game-changer for the Museum,” said Dr. Jen Budney, Executive Director & CEO of the Ukrainian Museum of Canada. “It will allow us to create more engaging, accessible, and memorable experiences for our visitors while deepening connections to Ukrainian Canadian heritage. With growing interest in Ukrainian culture, we anticipate welcoming more visitors from across Canada this summer than ever before. We are grateful for this support and excited for what’s ahead.”
